AMP has been hired to regulate the Proficiency Exams. You have 2 options for taking the exam, either by paper or on a computer. All the class dates and locations are paper exams. The Des Plaines location has online exams for individuals. You will be required to show 2 forms of ID to take an exam, 1 must be a current photo ID. The exam is timed and you are allowed 1-1/2 hours to complete. The Broker exam is 50 multiple choice questions, the Managing Broker exam is 70 multiple choice questions and passing is 75% or better. There are no math questions. You get 1 chance to take it. Online exams are graded immediately. Paper exams are sent to AMP for grading with the scores reported to the school, not the student, in 2 weeks usually less. Pass Report  Prohibited items during the exams include but not limited to (these will be collected before the exam and given back after completion); Aids of any kind including books, calculators, dictionaries, papers including scratch paper, or other reference materials; cell phones, pdas, computers, pagers, cameras, radios, or headset devices; purses and briefcases; hats and outerwear; food and drinks; plus anything that could be used to cheat with or compromise the exam. 

To upgrade and renew your license by Proficiency Exam:

• Salesperson to Broker need to pass the exam and complete 18 hours of CE (9 core and 9 elective).
• Broker to Managing Broker need to pass the exam and 30 hours of CE (9 core, 9 elective, and 12 hour Broker Management CE (available to purchase and do after 5/1/12)).
• Choose this upgrade option if you want to come in and do a class(es).  Proctored testing IS NOT available for the proficiency exam. They must be taken at a licensed pre-licensed school location or at a special state approved location (if you want to have a group at your location, call for approval specifications).
