MANAGING BROKER CE REQUIREMENTS FOR 4/30/13

  • I upgraded to the Managing Broker license by proficiency exam taken between 1/1/11 and 3/15/12. You need the 12 Hour Broker Management Continuing Education (BMCE) plus 18 hours of regular Continuing Education (9 core & 9 elective) completed between 5/1/10 and 4/30/13. Details below.
  • I upgraded to the Managing Broker license by the self study transition course w/school exam taken between 5/1/11 and 4/30/12. You need 18 hours of regular Continuing Education (9 core & 9 elective) completed between 5/1/10 and 4/30/13. Click Core/Elective Self Study CE for details.
  • I got my Managing Broker license by completing 45 hours of Managing Broker Pre-License education (30 hour Topics and 15 hour Interactive) and taking the State Exam through AMP after 5/1/11. You need 12 hours of regular Continuing Education (6 core & 6 elective) completed between 5/1/11 and 4/30/13. Click Core/Elective Self Study CE for details. 

CE COURSE INFORMATION

BMCE is a required 12 hour CE course for Managing Broker licensees (License #564.002105). For the 4/30/13 renewal some Managing Broker licensees need it (see requirements below). NO SELF STUDY ALLOWED. YOU MUST ATTEND A CLASS. The Real Estate License Act requires the course to be an interactive two way communication between student and instructor (e.g. in-person classes, live web classes, etc). The Real Estate License Act only allows a maximum of 6 class hours per day, so the course requires multiple days to complete. Attendance is MANDATORY for the full 12 hours. All 12 hours of classes plus materials and T/F CE exam are included in the price. No Hidden Fees. 

BMCE IN-PERSON CLASS: 2 separate day classes held through out NE Illinois are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a break in the morning & afternoon & 1 hour for lunch (lunch not included; location, days, dates, and addresses with map links below).

SELF STUDY CORE/ELECTIVE CE: Complete your CE requirements by adding one of our discount Self Study Core/Elective CE packages to your BMCE order. Take the exams to complete these courses online with a proctor or at lunch time or at the end of either of your in-person BMCE class days. BMCE CLASSES

IN-PERSON CLASS: 2 day classes held through out NE Illinois are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a break in the morning & afternoon & 1 hour for lunch (lunch not included; location, days, dates, and addresses with map links below).

LIVE WEB CLASS: 3 evening classes from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (days and dates below). NOTE: If you do not have a web cam, do not know how to use it, are unable to get one and set it up, and/or are technologically deficient, do not sign up for a web class. You need to be capable of some basic computer skills, knowledge, setup and audio/visual troubleshooting. You will also be required to come to our office by appointment, come a class location at the dates and times available, or take online with a proctor the CE exam to complete the course. Upon ordering we will email you instructions on what you need to set up to be able to attend.

CORE/ELECTIVE CE

  1. You can take your final exams online with a proctor of your choice at a location, date and time convenient for you (for more information on proctored exams see our "Proctors Page").
  2.  You can come to our main office in Des Plaines = Sure Win Inc., 2200 E. Devon Ave. Suite 246, Des Plaines IL. 60018, (NW corner of Devon and I-294 just west of the Rivers Casino at Devon and River Rd., in between the Rosemont Convention Center and the Allstate Arena/Rosemont Horizon, northeast of O'Hare Airport). Monday - Friday days by appointment. Evenings and weekends call for schedule.
  3. We will come administer the exams at your office for groups.
  4. You can come to one of the following locations on the day, date, and time by appointment:

Devon Ave. Suite 246, Des Plaines IL. 60018, (NW corner of Devon and I-294 just west of the Rivers Casino at Devon and River Rd., in between the Rosemont Convention Center and the Allstate Arena/Rosemont Horizon, northeast of O'Hare Airport). BMCE is from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. Sat. 4/27 & Sun. 4/28. Self Study Core/Elective CE testing is on each of the these days at 11:45 a.m. or 3:30 p.m. Self Study Core/Elective CE testing is also Monday through Friday days by appointment. Call to register.

ADDITIONAL CE EXAM INFORMATION

For every 3 hour CE course, you must pass a 25 question closed book T/F exam with a score of 70% or better. All course exams are included in the price. You will need to provide a current photo I.D. and real estate license # to take the exams. If you fail an exam we allow for 1 FREE retake within 30 days.  If you fail an exam a second time you will be required to re-purchase the course. 

Classroom CE students have these options for taking exams:

  • Immediately following each class there will be the exam to complete your CE.  You must take the exam at that time unless prior arrangements have been made.  

Combination class and self study CE students have these options for taking exams: 

  • Students who order a combination of classroom and self study can take their self study exam(s) at lunchtime or at the end of their classroom day, or complete the self study exam(s) as per the options below.

    Self Study CE students have these options for taking exams:

    • Testing in your office with a group of 5 or more,
    • Set up Proctored exams,
    • Take the exams at the SURE WIN INC. office by appointment, or
    • Come to one of our class/course locations on the day, date and time listed and take your exams. Call for details and to schedule.
    Upon passing your CE exam(s), you will receive a Certificate of Completion and your completion it will be reported to the IDFPR (reporting is not immediate, schools have until the 15th of the following month to report). CE certificates are for your records only. DO NOT send them in with your renewal. You can go online or send in your renewal before you receive your certificates or it is reported as long as you have completed all the required CE.

    CE Notes:
    • You need at least one Core A and one Core B course for each renewal.
    • CE credits do not roll over, so if you do more than required for any renewal period they will not be able to be used for future renewals.
    • You can not take the same license numbered CE course twice in a renewal period and get double credit. You can take the same course in subsequent renewals for credit.
    • You can take more Core courses than required (as long as they are not the same license numbered course). They will count towards your total CE hours needed and reduce the number of electives hours needed.
    • You can not take more Elective course hours than required and receive credit.
    • Your CE credits recorded with the State do not automatically transfer to your new license number when you upgrade. Only when you take CE under your new license number will the credit be posted to that number. You need to search your new and old license numbers. CE credits reported for both license numbers will be counted for the total needed.
